After practically a year away from you all, I'm back to start coloring again. From now on I'm entirely a colourist, not original lines of my own because I have no scanner or desire to draw. I'm doing this because my girlfriend wanted me to color something for her and I enjoyed doing it, so I'm going to start coloring again in my spare time.

I'm sorry to everyone whose comments I have not replied to. Thank you for all of the favorites and watches and I hope I can put up some work that you will all enjoy.

Am I a good enough colourist and photomaniplator to keep submitting stuff here at dA, or should I just pack it up and go? My life is crazy stressful and hectic and I figure it's not really worth it to spend hours on my art here if it's not appreciated. So, you guys tell me what you think. Should I keep doing art here or no?

Is anyone else having problems with not being able to see full viewed deviations? It's not happening with all of them but a bunch I try to load full view just don't show up.

Goodness me, it has been quite a long time, hasn't it? It feels like years. Wow, in fact it looks like it almost HAS been a year. =O My last journal was October of '07 and now it's August '08, haha, long time.

Well I hope you guys didn't miss me too much. I'm sure you had plenty of better things to do than pine my sudden disappearance anyways.

So, why was I gone so long? My life...well it went crazy. Yeah they put it in a padded room and everything. Sad times, sad times.

*cough* Right, so a lot of stuff happened to put my art and dA on a very, very, very far back burner. In all honesty, I haven't done any art since I left. At all. 8| Though this hurt my soul a little, so many horrible things have happened to me in the past year that I simply didn't care.

Hmmm, what of interest has happened to me since I left? I graduated high-school, turned 18 (omg y!-gallery lifted the ban on me O= ), got a job as a preschool teacher, and fell very ill. I ended up losing my job because of pay-cuts and my illness and have been bed-ridden (to this day) since. When I'm not in bed or on my computer, I'm in the doctor's office, hospital, you get the picture.

Anyways there was a time a couple months ago I came on here to see what was going on, even considering coming back and doing art again, but I recieved a message from dA staff saying they had deleted a shitload of my work. A few of them made sense (the Naruto chapter pages I colored. Copyrights, fine, fine, whatever.), but then I saw they deleted the pictures I took of my dogs because of copyright issues. So I was like: "Wth who has a copyright on MY dogs?". W...T...F... So I sent a message to staff asking why my pictures I snapped of my dogs (in my kitchen as I sat on the floor, mind you), and they said, and I couldn't believe this:

The pictures looked too professional.

...Needless to say I was both flattered and furious. I mean they told me my pictures that I snapped with a digital camera of MY dogs and edited myself were professional. That's nice...I guess. Then of course that meant that they were implying the rest of my gallery sucked so much that they didn't believe these good pictures could be mine. So i got pissed off and left dA without coming back to do more art. Let's just say it left me less than inspired to actually do well, lest dA say that I've done too well and therefore my own work can't possibly belong to a sucky artist like me.

*rolls eyes*

But, since I've gotten sick again, I really have nothing to do besides play maplestory and sleep, so I dropped by dA a couple days ago to look at some art. Lo and behold, your dear inky found some line art and SPLAT inspiration hit her right in the face like a cream pie. A tasty cream pie. It took me a while to stomach my fear of the dA staff but I decided I damn well need something to do since I no longer have a job or the health to have a life, so I'm back, ladies and worms.

I want to clarify something about the work I'm going to be posting once I get back into the groove and practice a bit (not doing art for a year makes it weird to suddenly jump back into it):

I no longer have a scanner and to be honest I no longer draw. It was never my strong-suit anyways. I've always been more inclined towards photomanipulation and coloring.

THEREFORE, I am now first and foremost a colourist. If I do my own lineart it's because the lineart has already been scanned/uploaded by me long ago. To anyone who asks me why I never do my own work: Colourist's work is personal. Just because I didn't make the lines doesn't mean I didn't spend hours doing what I did and it doesn't mean that it's not my artwork.

I MIGHT still do portraits. I'm really not sure. We'll just have to see.

Oh, and some of you might notice artwork from my gallery disappearing or changing. I'm scrapping a shitload because a lot of my stuff, honestly, sucks, and anything I don't think is acceptable (which is a lot lol), is being scrapped or deleted. As for the changed pieces, there are some I like too much to scrap but DEFINITELY need editing, so I'll be changing a lot of my pieces.

Also, my subscription is gone *cry* so no more pretty journals, features, or stamps for me. D= If someone even gets me a month subscription I'll have your babehs. o_O But I don't need it, it's just be nice, is all.

Sorry to whoever got my 15k kiriban. Perhaps I'll do 20k, but I'm just gonna have to pass the 15k mark.

So, enough of this long-ass return journal. I will be posting new work soon, after I finish a bulk of pieces, rather than just one or two, and I edit my current gallery.
